Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.
God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.
Day 78: Sunday, April 6
Holy Spirit, inspire me with the right words to speak truth to power, and advocate for justice and compassion. May Your words of wisdom flow through me to restore relationships and alert people to injustice.
Day 79: Monday, April 7
Today I pray for due process to interrupt the apprehension, deportation, and imprisonment of brothers and sisters who may not have a criminal past or be a threat to society. I pray that the U.S. government quickly rights these wrongs.
Day 80: Tuesday, April 8
God with us, accompany my brothers and sisters on the battlefields between nations; on the streets and seeking shelter; at the kitchen table trying to make ends meet and provide a meal. May Your loving presence light a new path.
Day 81: Wednesday, April 9
Today I pray to change my habits and abandon fossil fuel energy for clean energy, and reject throw-away culture for sustainable practices. May these acts serve as a gift to those who share our common home today and in the future.
Day 82: Thursday, April 10
God of forgiveness, I ask You to help us repent when our government - or any nation’s government - treats any person created in your image as collateral damage. Help me be a voice to guide us away from callous, reckless actions.
Day 83: Friday, April 11
God of truth, guide me to find some footing amidst the rapid dismantling of U.S. government agencies dubiously labeled corrupt with little evidence. Reveal and restore the missions of agencies benefiting Your people locally and globally.
Day 84: Saturday, April 12
Loving Spirit, amplify our voices of protest to be heard loudly and clearly in ways that create restorative action unifying all people and protecting those who are most vulnerable. May protests be peaceful, safe, and transforming.
