100 Days of Prayer (s21): Days 50-56

Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.

God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.

Day 43: Sunday, October 20

Today I pray for all innocent civilians impacted by war and violence around the world, especially in the Middle East. Touch the hearts of leaders to stop the violence and provide the support needed to heal and restore devastated lives.

Day 50: Monday, October 21

Inclusive God, I pray You grant leaders the capacity to respect their marginalized dear neighbor and speak up on their behalf. May they provide them with affordable housing, education, and healthcare opportunities.

Day 51: Tuesday, October 22

Today I pray that You guide candidates to commit to representing their constituents’ needs fairly and not be driven by power and greed. May they commit to collaborating with colleagues to serve their country, not their interests.

Day 52: Wednesday, October 23

Unifying God, I pray for all my brothers and sisters who are on their journey to a better life. May they be protected from harm, shielded from violence, afforded a safe place to live and work, and welcomed by their community.

Day 53: Thursday, October 24

Today I pray that we find it in our hearts to do away with consumerism practices that devastate our common home. May we learn to live with less so that others may have enough to survive.

Day 54: Friday, October 25

Gracious and Merciful God, guide me to respect the dear neighbor who thinks differently. May I take the first step to reach across the bridge with a listening heart that will allow me to see their humanity.

Day 55: Saturday, October 26

Today, I pray for the communities shattered by natural disasters. Guide their governmental leaders to prioritize assisting them with their needs, restoring their lives, and supporting ongoing efforts to relocate or rebuild their homes.
