Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.
God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.
Day 43: Sunday, October 13
Today I pray for all people affected by climate disasters. May brothers and sisters who have lost loved ones or property be comforted and find a path forward.
Day 44: Monday, October 14
Holy Spirit, heal the homelands of people who feel they must flee violence and poverty. Accompany those who migrate to find a better life. Protect them on their dangerous journey and create a sense of welcome in their new home.
Day 45: Tuesday, October 15
God of justice, clear a path to make it easy for all eligible voters to let their voice be heard. Enable voters to hear issues clearly, free from misinformation, and make informed decisions.
Day 46: Wednesday, October 16
Today I pray for peace throughout the world. Hear my prayer that wars cease in Ukraine, the Middle East, and all places of conflict. Enable the few leaders to talk and seek peace to prevent the many from dying and suffering.
Day 47: Thursday, October 17
Loving and gracious God, lift up people who serve others on the front lines of compassion - from healthcare workers to those assisting people on the margins of housing and food insecurity and more. May they have all they need.
Day 48: Friday, October 18
Today I pray for voices in the Church to be heard. Enable decision makers to listen to the needs of all the Church and create a welcoming faith home for all people.
Day 49: Saturday, October 19
God of love, enable me to be a steward of Your creation by making wise choices that will clean and preserve the environment of our shared home. May my actions multiply and benefit the generations to come.
