100 Days of Prayer (s17): Days 8-14

Begin with the prayer below, then go to the prayer for the day.

God of wisdom and mercy, grant us patience to listen; compassion to be open to other views and opinions; generosity to forgive and grace to change. As you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.

Day 8: Sunday, May 14

Loving God, I am grateful for all mothers and for all who lovingly tend and care for others as mothers. I pray for their ongoing resilience and inspirational support. Protect them with Your healing embrace.

Day 9: Monday, May 15

I pray for all who vigorously work behind the scenes to serve the dear neighbor without distinction. May their acts of kindness touch the lives of those served and may their spirits be renewed.

Day 10: Tuesday, May 16

Unifying God, protect my refugee brothers and sisters worldwide on their journeys to a safe place to call home. May they be acknowledged and welcomed as their asylum needs are met.

Day 11: Wednesday, May 17

Today I pray for peace in my heart and my dear neighbor’s heart. Encourage us to engage in respectful dialogue and listen without fear to the other’s perspective. Please lead us to ongoing peaceful conversations.

Day 12: Thursday, May 18

Peaceful God, I pray for all impacted by gun violence. I pray that the victims and their loved ones find hope in You and that their anguish be transformed into resilience.

Day 13: Friday, May 19

Today I pray that world leaders prioritize the well-being of their people and work to end poverty, violence, destruction of natural resources, and their nuclear weapons arsenal. Encourage them through dialogue, unity, and peace.

Day 14: Saturday, May 20

God of creation, I pray not to take my access to water for granted. Remind me to use only what I need and be mindful of others who struggle to have safe drinking water in their communities.
